TRULY MONGOLIAN

PURE CASHMERE

The Soft Gold of Alxa. 100% PURE CASHMERE.

A Natural Wonder

100% Pure, 100% Biodegradable, 100% Traceable

At Luciénte, our commitment goes beyond aesthetics — it is rooted in sustainability and purity. Our cashmere is 100% traceable, sourced only from high-quality, organic cashmere fibers from Inner Mongolia. It is completely biodegradable, leaving no harmful footprint behind. This process is done entirely by hand and is harmless to the goats, ensuring both ethical practices and impeccable quality. We partner exclusively with an industry-leading yarn spinner that adheres to strict traceability and environmental standards, helping to build a sustainable ecosystem around the cashmere industry.

A SUPERB LEVEL OF

Softness, Lightness, Breathability, and Insulation

Cashmere is not just soft — it’s remarkably soft. The tiny scales on its surface are fewer and smoother than those of sheep’s wool, creating a silky texture that feels heavenly against the skin. Unlike regular wool, cashmere is more skin-friendly and less prone to itchiness. It breathes effortlessly, adjusts to your body temperature, and provides warmth without bulk. In fact, it is eight times warmer than wool, while remaining astonishingly lightweight. Whether worn directly on the skin or layered in colder climates, Luciénte cashmere guarantees feather-light warmth, unmatched comfort, and breathability.

Origin of Excellence

The Alxa Advantage

In the remote desert region of Alxa, Inner Mongolia, a rare and exquisite treasure is found. Known for producing some of the world’s finest cashmere, Alxa is home to a unique breed of goats that grow an exceptionally soft undercoat to survive the harsh winter. This undercoat — a thin fleece layer around the roots of the goat's hair — grows during the coldest months and naturally sheds in spring, allowing for ethical and sustainable collection. With an average fiber diameter of just 15.5 microns — six times finer than human hair — our cashmere is as exclusive as it is extraordinary. Only a few dozen grams of this precious fleece can be combed by hand from each goat per year, making Alxa cashmere one of the rarest and most luxurious fibers on earth.

Rarity and Craftsmanship

The Art Behind Every Garment

The rarity of Alxa cashmere stems from both its scarcity and the artisanal processes involved in its collection and transformation. The cashmere can only be harvested during a short spring window, when goats naturally shed their winter coats. Each Luciénte sweater requires the fine fleece from four goats, painstakingly combed by hand. Once collected, the fiber is processed to the highest standard, ensuring it remains soft, luxurious, and long-lasting. This level of craftsmanship ensures that every Luciénte garment is not only a piece of clothing — but a legacy of elegance.

Timeless Performance

Durability, Shape Retention, and Longevity

When cared for correctly, pure cashmere garments can last for over a decade, offering more than 200 wears. Unlike wool, cashmere is hollow in structure, making it lighter and warmer. It resists shrinking, retains its shape beautifully, and is low-maintenance, requiring only occasional washing. The best fibers, like ours, also experience less pilling. While some pilling is natural in high-friction areas, it significantly decreases after the first few wears and is easily managed with a cashmere comb. Investing in a Luciénte cashmere piece means investing in enduring luxury, with timeless performance that pays off wear after wear.

A True Investment

Why IS CASHMERE Worth IT

Cashmere is often referred to as "soft gold," and for good reason. The production yield is minimal — a single goat produces only a few ounces of usable fiber each year, compared to 10-18 kilograms of wool from a sheep. Add to that the cost of skilled labor, ethical harvesting, yarn spinning, and expert knitting, and you begin to understand the price of perfection. Premium cashmere yarns with the longest, finest, and whitest fibers can cost up to €200 per kilogram. At Luciénte, we never cut corners. Our garments are an embodiment of luxury and refinement, delivering unmatched quality, wearability, and long-term value. Once you experience true cashmere, going back to ordinary wool is no longer an option.

OUR SUPPLY CHAIN TIERS

GARMENT MANUFACTURING

This is the production step that involves final assembly of the garment before it is delivered to our warehouse. This is where most of the social impacts are felt as it is labour intensive and we have 100% visibility of all the factories working at this stage.

FABRIC MANUFACTURING

This is the fabric production stage including the construction and dyeing of the fabrics and trims. This is usually where most of the carbon intensity is found as large amounts of energy are required forthe production of fabrics.

YARN SPINNING

This is where the fibres are spun into yarns, prior to being manufactured into fabrics. This stage is energy intensive and is often done in a unit separate to the tier 2 production. We currently have 47% visibility of the suppliers involved at this stage for our main fabrics.

FIBRE PRODUCTION

Depending on the fibre type, this is where fibres are grown, farmed, or manufactured. It is often very difficult to trace the supply chain to this tier however we currently have 25% visibility of the suppliers involved at this stage for our main fabrics.
